Frequently asked questions

Is my donation tax deductible?

Contributions may be tax deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law. FOCHOR's formal tax-exempt language is being finalized with U.S. legal counsel; receipts carry the currently approved wording.

Where does my money actually go?

Each gift is recorded to the fund you choose (e.g., Education, Feeding). Restricted gifts stay restricted. Our ledger traces every donation to allocation and expenditure with supporting documentation.

Can I choose which child I sponsor?

Yes — published profiles on our sponsorship page are verified children whose cases were approved and whose publication passed safeguarding review. Your sponsorship funds the program serving that child; FOCHOR administers funds on the child's behalf.

How do you protect the children you serve?

Child safeguarding is architectural: confidential case files are strictly separated from public profiles, photographs require documented guardian consent, and staff access to sensitive records is permission-controlled and audit-logged.

Who can refer a child?

Anyone — pastors, teachers, relatives, neighbors, social workers or concerned individuals. No account is needed. Every referral receives a reference number and confidential review.

Do you help only Christian children?

No. While discipleship is central to our program, we do not reject children based on religion, ethnicity, disability, sex or nationality. Program participation details are governed by our eligibility policy, which remains subject to human review.

Can I get a refund?

If a gift was made in error, contact us promptly. Refunds are handled per our donation policy and require authorization; see the Donation & Refund Policy pages.
